What should I expect during the first season on STL OAT’s turf program?
The first season is about getting the foundations right. You’ll see our team out several times through the year working through the 7-step program, which covers everything from early soil conditioning and weed control through aeration and overseeding. Most clients notice improvement within the first season, and the results tend to build from there.
My trees and shrubs have been dealing with fungal issues. Is that something STL OAT handles?
Fungal conditions in trees and shrubs are often tied to poor airflow, overwatering, or soil that isn’t draining well. STL OAT’s plant health care team assesses what’s driving the issue and builds a treatment plan around it, which sometimes includes recommending pruning to open up the canopy and reduce the conditions that allow fungal problems to develop. We work closely with Meyer Tree Service when that work goes beyond what our team handles directly.
How do I know if my lawn needs aeration?
Most St. Louis lawns benefit from annual aeration because our clay-heavy soil compacts easily and limits the root development that healthy turf depends on. If your lawn struggles through summer heat, drains poorly after rain, or feels hard underfoot, compaction is likely a factor. Aeration is included in our turf program and paired with overseeding to give your lawn the best chance to fill in and strengthen before winter.
