A Local Team That Knows Your Lawn

Growing good grass and healthy trees and shrubs takes a program built specifically for the soil and climate in our area. That’s what St. Louis Ornamental & Turf was built to accomplish. We’re the turf and plant health care affiliate of Meyer Tree Service and M&P Landscaping, and our team includes ISA certified arborists, a horticulturist, and licensed pesticide applicators who have been working St. Louis-area properties for decades.

The Right Crew for Every Plant on Your Property

When your lawn and your landscape both need attention, we coordinate with our sister companies so you only have to make one call.

Protecting Plant Health and Providing Turf Care in Kirkwood

STL OAT handles two service programs for residential properties in Kirkwood, both built around understanding what your lawn and landscape actually need before deciding how to treat them.

Turf Care

Our 7-step program covers weed control, fertilization, grub and insect treatment, aeration, overseeding, and soil conditioning timed to your lawn’s needs.

Plant Health Care

Our plant health care program covers integrated pest management, deep root fertilization, tree injections, and soil treatment for your ornamental trees and shrubs.

See What a Professional Turf Program Can Do

STL OAT offers free consultations for homeowners. We’ll walk your property and put together a program that fits your lawn and landscape.

“We interviewed and got bids from several different companies. St. Louis Ornamental & Turf has been the best. We are so happy we went with them. We have trees, bushes, and plants to draw birds and bees and it looks wonderful. I highly recommend them.”

How We Run Our Programs

STL OAT approaches turf care and plant health care a little differently than most companies in the area, and it helps to know why.

Our turf program is built around healthy soils, slow-release, nitrogen-based fertilizers, and C-20 Organic Soil Conditioner because healthy soil makes every application work better. We’re feeding the microbes that make your lawn productive, not chasing a green-up. The lawn you get on the other end handles St. Louis summers far better than a fast nitrogen treatment.

We start PHC programs with more frequent applications to get pest populations under control, then pull back to inspection-based treatment as your landscape stabilizes. Our technicians also flag cultural adjustments along the way, like opening up a tree canopy to reduce fungal conditions, even when that’s work we’re not billing for.

Freshen Up Your Lawn

A multi-season turf program starts with understanding your property.

Lawns Treated to Last Every Season

STL OAT’s turf contracts run year to year, but the program is designed to get better over time. Lawns coming off high-nitrogen programs need a season or two to adjust to an approach built around soil health rather than fast results. By year three, most clients see a lawn that handles St. Louis summers, drought, and weed pressure better than it ever did before. That’s what we’re working toward from the first application.

FAQs

STL OAT’s turf program runs February through December and includes C-20 soil conditioning, granular fertilization, targeted weed control at every visit, crabgrass prevention, grub control, aeration, overseeding, and a slow-release winter fertilizer. Fungicide applications are available on an as-needed basis.

Yes, and some clients do. The full program works because each step builds on the one before it, but individual applications can still be worthwhile depending on what your lawn needs. We’ll tell you upfront what to expect from whatever approach you choose.

Plant health care is a core part of what we do. Our team includes ISA-certified arborists and a horticulturist who can assess what’s driving a decline and build a treatment plan around it. For anything that goes beyond applications, we work closely with Meyer Tree Service and M&P Landscaping so the right expertise is always involved.
